January 8th & 9th 2025

This week we sold 7,630 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday January 8th, we had 716 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls, & heiferettes through the ring. As we haven’t had a sale in 2 weeks there is no comparison. However, the market picked up right where it left off. Butcher and feeding cows still bringing a good ticket, with heiferettes being a soft on the day. Thursday January 9th, we marketed 6,914 head of stocker and feeders through the ring. An excellent line-up of calves was seen throughout the day. This sale featured our special Red Angus & Hereford Influence section, which led to some outstanding quotes, especially on the red replacement quality heifers. Decemebr 16th, 18th & 19th

This week we sold 8,353 head of cattle of all classes in 3 sales. On Monday December 16th, we sold 2,529 head of bred cows and 1st calf heifers. We saw another really nice offering of bred females across the board. 1st Calf heifers topped out at $3,350 for 16 head of Angus heifers. The gavel fell at $3,175 for 35 head of Angus 3 & 4 year olds. The 5 & 6’s saw a ceiling of $2,900 and solid mouth hit $2,975. The short solid to short term cows saw a high of $2,725 on a set of stout Red Angus cows. Wednesday December 18th, we sold 1,068 head of butcher and feeding cows, bulls, and heiferettes. We will call the market steady to $10 higher in places compared to a week ago. Thursday December 19th, we marketed 4,756 head of stocker and feeders. Another really good run of feeder cattle through the ring this week. We will call calves under 450 lbs were $10 higher, while calves weighing 500 to 650 lbs were $5 to $10 lower, and calves in the 700 to 850 lbs range were $3 to $5 higher. On the heifer side of things, the lighter weight heifers were $10 higher with the 550 to 600 lbs heifers being the only soft spot on the day. We will call the heavy heifers $3 higher. December 11th & 12th

This week we sold 9,671 head of cattle of all classes in 3 sales. On Monday December 9th, we marketed 2,807 head of bred cows and 1st calf heifers. We had another outstanding sale with record breaking numbers. We saw multiple really outstanding complete dispersions through the ring that drew a lot of attention, as well as a lot of really nice 1st calf heifers. Some toppers on the day include 45 head of Angus 3–4-year-olds off a dispersion at $3,800 a head. The gavel fell at $3,675 for a reputation set of 45 Angus 3–4-year-olds. We saw 14 head of SimAngus 1st calf heifers top at $3,225. On Wednesday December 11th, we saw 625 head of feeding & butcher cows, bulls, & heiferettes through the ring. We will call all classes unevenly steady compared to a week ago. On Thursday December 12th, we got the opportunity to market 6,239 head of stocker feeders. It was a really nice line-up of calves and proved to be a good test of the market. On the steer side, we will call light steers 300 to 450 lbs $3 to $8 lower, 500 to 650 lbs steers were sharply higher, the 650 to 800 lbs weight class was mostly unweaned cattle and we will call them unevenly steady. On the heifer side of the action, we will call those 300 to 500 lbs heifers sharply higher, we will call the 600 to 800 lbs heifers steady to $8 higher, with 500 to 550 lbs heifers being a soft spot at $5 back. December 4th & 5th

Market Recap:
This week we sold 8,693 head of cattle of all classes in 3 sales. On Monday December 2nd, we sold 2,636 head of Stockcows, Pairs, and 1st Calf Heifers. The fall pairs sold for a high of $3,550 with an average of $2,650. Our 3 & 4 year old cows topped at $3,225 and averaged $2,425. The gavel fell at $3,175 for the top end of 5 & 6 year old cows with an average of $2,375. The solid mouth cows topped at $2,850 with an average of $2,275. The older cows saw a high of $2,300 with an average of $1,850 on the day. 1st Calf heifers over 1,000# hit $3,225 and averaged $2,600. Heifers under 1,000 saw a high of $2,875 with an average of $2,150. All quotes on heifers are both AI and Natural service heifers. Wednesday December 4th, we sold 992 head of butcher and feeding cows, bulls, and heiferettes. We will call the market steady to a few dollars higher in places. On Thursday December 5th, we sold 5,065 head of stocker and feeders through the ring. We saw record breaking numbers on a barn burning sale. Three weight reputation calves hit a record $547.50. We will call all classes sharply higher compared to two weeks ago. We want to thank all buyers and consignors alike for an exceptional week.

november 20th & 21st

This week we sold 5,176 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, November 20st , 968 head of Butchering & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes were marketed. Slaughter Cows continue to grind lower about $2.00 to $3.00 lower. Light test on slaughter Bulls. Heiferette traded lower with majority of the buyer filling up for the season. Thursday, November 21st, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale selling 4,208 head for the day. Compared to last week light weight steers sold $10.00 to $14.00 higher, 500 weight steers sold $5.00 lower, 6 weight plus Steers sold $5.00 to $10.00 higher. Yearling heifers sold aggressively higher. While 600 lb and under heifers sold $7.00 to $9.00 higher, heavier bawling heifers sold $3.00 to $5.00 lower compared to last week.

noVEMBER 13TH & 14TH

This week we sold 6,650 head of cattle of all classes in 3 sales. On Monday, November 11th, we sold 1,482 head of Stockcows, First Calf Heifers and Cow/Calf Pairs. We had a decent test of the market for our first Special of the season. We saw 1st Calf Heifers top at $,100 with an average of $2,835.00, 3 to 6 year old Stockcows topped at $2,925 with an average of $2,496 a head. The pairs saw a high of $3,275 averaging $3,039 a pair. Wednesday, we saw 1,090 head of weigh ups through the ring. We will call the market steady on all classes compared to last week. On Thursday, November 14th we marketed 4,078 head of calves and yearling. We had a really nice selection of calves throughout the day and the market showed. Compared to lase week, steers were steady to $15.00 higher, while heifers were steady to $6.00 higher on the day. Tune in next week for a Special on November 21st.

The market proved to be steady to $3 lower on all classes compared to a week ago. On Thursday November 7th, we marketed 4,419 head of yearlings and calves. We will call the market steady to $10 higher on all classes of calves compared to a week ago. We had a nice offering of calves throughout the day, seeing a lot of quality and condition go through the ring. Tune in next week for another special, expecting 4,000 head.

market report for october 23rd & 24th

This week we sold 4,593 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, October 23rd, we sold 849 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls and heiferettes. The cow runs are getting bigger every week. The lower grade cows were steady to $3.00 higher, heiferettes were softer compared to a week ago. Thursday, October 24th, we marketed 3,793 head of calves and yearlings. Compared to last week, steers less than 450 lbs sold unevenly steady while steers over 450 lbs sold $4 to $7 higher. Heifers sold $3 to $6 higher on all weight classes with 400 to 500 lbs selling sharply higher. We saw a good crowd throughout the day with a lot of demand and activity on the seats.

This week we sold 4,426 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday October 16th, we saw 702 head of butcher and feeding cows, bulls & heiferettes through the ring. We will call the market steady on all classes compared to a week ago. Expect to see a lot of volume of weigh-ups in the coming weeks. Thursday October 17th, we marketed 3,724 head of calves and yearlings. Compared to a week ago the lightweight classes of both steers and heifers were $3 to $5 higher while the heavier classes of cattle would be $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good and we saw a lot of high-quality throughout smaller bunches this week. Tune in next week, October 24th, expecting 3,500 head.

Market Report for October 9th & 10th

This week we sold 4,516 head of cattle in two sales. Wednesday October 9th, we sold 785 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls, & heiferettes. We will call the market for butcher & feeding cows steady compared to last week and bulls $3 to $5 higher. We had another good offering of heiferettes and rebreed types, we will call that market $5 to $10 higher. The demand for those types proving to be high. On Thursday October 10th, we sold 3,731 head of stocker feeders. We saw a lot of high-quality cattle come through the ring throughout the day. We had a good crowd and we saw a lot of demand both on the seats and the internet. Overall, it was an excellent sale that gave a good test of this strong market. We have no comparison to last week due to a light test. Tune in next week, October 17th for another special, expecting 3,000 head.

This week we sold 3,473 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, we sold 425 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls, & heiferettes. We will call butcher cows $3-$5 lower. We had a good offering of heiferettes and rebreed types, we will call them $5 higher. Slaughter bulls were softer as well. On Thursday, we marketed 3,051 head of yearlings and calves. Big strings of yearling steers highlighted the sale. Compared to a week ago, steers over 700 lbs sold steady to $6 higher. Heifers over 700 lbs sold steady to $4 higher. Tune in next week, October 3rd for another special, expecting 1,500-2,000 head.

This Week we sold 3,464 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, we had a light run of weigh-ups selling 143 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls, & heiferettes. The market took another step backwards compared to a week ago. These price fluctuations can be expected with the seasonal trend. We should start getting into some bigger runs of cows here in the next few weeks. On Thursday, we marketed 3,321 head of yearlings and calves. It was a snappy sale, with a lot of long strings of those yearlings. We had a good test on those yearling heifers as well as some NHTC cattle. The Market was stronger compared to our sale two weeks ago. The board took a good rebound throughout the day, and activity was good on both the seats and the internet. We will see you next Thursday, the 26th, expecting 3,000 head.

market report for june 12th, 2024

This week, Wednesday June 12th, we sold 1,533 head of cattle of all classes. We had a large run of weigh-ups selling 750 head of butcher & feeding cows, bulls, & heiferettes. The market continues to be extremely strong; we will call it steady to $10 higher in places. Demand softened slightly on heiferette types but overall is still very good. The afternoon portion consisted of baby calves, a light test of feeder cattle, and a good run of pairs and stockcows. Aged pairs are still very marketable, selling in range of $2,300 to $3,000 for a large-framed cow with a big 300 lb calf at her side. A light test of 1st calf heifer pairs traded at a range of $3,250 to $3,350. A decent run of bred cows saw a top of $2,450 on a nice set of Red SimAngus 3-4 year olds calving now. Baby calves traded from $300 to $1235.

This week we sold 6.956 head of cattle in two sales. Wednesday, we sold 681 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. The Cow market was steady to $10.00 higher throughout. ’21 &’22 model Heiferettes & Feeding Heiferettes were sharply higher with a good offering of those throughout the sale. Thursday the 6th we celebrated 73 years of business with our 17th Annual Customer Appreciation Stocker Feeder Sale. We sold 6,275 head on the day. The market was steady to higher in places compared to our last Special in May. Demand remained strong although buyers paid close attention to kind, color & fill on cattle with the board of trade being $10 lower on Feeder Cattle this week. Wednesday, May 29th we marketed 1,081 head at our Special Stockcow & Cow/calf pair Sale with our Regular Sale, 439 of those being sold in the weigh up portion of the sale. Demand was good with good activity from internet as well. Short Solid & Short Term pairs sold from $2,400 to $3,025 with the high selling set being large framed cows in good condition having 300 lb calves at their side. Light test of 1st Calf Heifer Pairs traded from $3,400 to $3,600. In the morning weigh up sale our top cow was $143.00 and top bull was $160.00 on a market that continues to thrive every week.

On Wednesday May 15th, we held a Special Stockcow and Pair Sale along with our regular sale selling 1,461 head of cattle. The morning portion of the sale marketed 518 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls, & Heiferettes. The slaughter cow market was steady to higher compared to last week. The afternoon portion consisted of Pairs and Stockcows, this week we had the opportunity to market some standout Red Angus 1st Calf heifer pairs, 3-to-4-year-old pairs, and more aged pairs. The top 1st Calf heifer pairs came from Paul Travis with the gavel falling at $4,000 for 16 head. The 3-to-4-year olds saw a top of $3,750 on 17 head of Angus pairs from Anderson & Pitz. The ages pairs saw a lot of the $2600 to $2750 price range with a ceiling of $3000 on 9 head of Red Angus Pairs. We had a light test of fall calving bred cows, middle aged breds averaged $2,300 and aged breds averaged $2,100. Baby calves sold in a range of $325 to $1,175. Demand overall on the day was very good with a lot of activity on the seats.

This week we sold 5,147 head of cattle of all classes in 2 sales. Wednesday May 1st was a Regular Sale with a Special Stockcow and Pair Sale. The morning portion of the sale consisted of 534 Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls, & Heiferettes. The Slaughter Cow market remained steady compared to last week, Heiferette types were $2 to $8 lower, and slaughter bulls were steady to $5 higher compared to the week prior. The afternoon portion featured 811 head of Stockcows and Pairs. We had a large run of 1st Calf heifers this week with the top set hitting the $3,850 mark. We had a light test of Aged Stockcow pairs topping $2950 on the day. Thursday May 2nd, we marketed 3,802 head on a Stocker & Feeder special. This sale consisted of a big string of calves coming off wheat pasture. Steers under 600 lbs sold steady to $6.00 higher while steers over 600 were steady. Heifers under 600 lbs were $10 back while heifers over 600 lbs were steady to $8 higher. All prices compared to two weeks ago. Demand was good on the day with a lot of activity on the seats and from the internet.

MARKET REPORT FOR APRIL 24TH

This week we sold 1,639 head of cattle on Wednesday April 24th. The morning portion consisted of butcher and feedings cows, bulls, and heiferettes. We saw butcher and feeding cows $2 to $4 lower compared to last week. Slaughter bulls and heiferettes were both steady compared to the week prior. The afternoon portion of our sale featured a wide selection of Aged Stockcow pairs with big calves at side. Demand was strong, 204 Short Term pairs sold at an average of $2,400 with the top end bringing $2,875 a pair. There was a light test of 1st Calf Heifer pairs with a top of $3,625 a pair. The market reflected $200 down on the 1st Calf heifer pair side of things on a light test and Short-Term pairs sold $100 to $200 higher compared to last week’s sale. There was a light test of bred cows. Baby calves brought anywhere from $375 to $975 on the day.

Market report for april 10th & 11th

This week we sold 3,821 head of cattle of all classes in 2 sales. Wednesday April 10th was our regular sale with a Special Stockcow & Pair sale featuring the Maddux Maternalizer Bred cows. The morning portion of the sale marketed 440 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls, & Heiferettes. The Slaughter cow market remained steady compared to last week with high demand still being shown for heiferette types. The afternoon portion of the sale proved to be very strong with 1st calf heifers topping at $3,200 and younger bred cows hitting $3,050. We also had a light test of pairs seeing a high of $3,500 on younger cows with calves at side. Thursday April 11th, we marketed 2,465 head on a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale with the first real test of fall calves going through the ring. All Weight classes of steers sold steady to $10.00 lower. Heifers under 600 lbs sold steady to $12.00 lower while heifers 600 plus sold steady to $10.00 higher compared to two weeks ago. We saw a lot of high-quality falls calves and grass cattle being marketed. With a downward trending board, we still had an excellent sale, lots of buyers in seats and demand being shown.

Lapp Ranch Liquidation Market Report

This week we had the opportunity to market a complete liquidation of roping stock from the Lapp Ranch. We had a lot of interest in this set of horned cattle prior to sale day and it showed with a packed house Wednesday. There was proven to be a high demand for these cattle with very active bidding throughout the crowd. The horned cattle averaged $880 per head on the day, with 14 head of Corriente heifers topping the market on roping type cattle, ringing the bell at $1,000. The gavel fell at $1,400 for the top 2 pairs of the day, and $825 on 5 replacement quality heifers. This week we sold 3,454 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, March 27th , was our Regular Sale marketing 267 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. The slaughter cow market remains very strong selling yet again at record highs. A high volume of demand on heiferettes was noted. On Thursday March 28th, we sold 3,148 head for our Special Stocker & Feeder Sale. We had a great sale even with a very depressed board of cattle trade for the week. Steers weighing under 600 lbs. sold steady to $12.00 higher, 600 lbs to 800 lbs sold steady to $10.00 lower and 800 lbs plus sold steady to $1.00 higher. Heifers sold unevenly steady on all weight classes with the exception of 600 to 700 lbs heifers selling $8.00 to $10.00 higher. All quotes are compared to our sale two weeks ago.

Another busy week was noted this week at Ogallala Livestock selling 5,935 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, March 13th, we sold 513 head of slaughter cows and bulls. The trade was sharply higher this week with slaughter cows mostly trading from $120.00 to $132.00/ cwt. It’s a very active market on all weight classes of weigh up cows and bulls. On Thursday, March 14th, we had 5,422 head for a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale. The sale was very active all day with a large number of buyers in the seats and on the internet. Both steers and heifers on all weight classes sold steady to $11.00 higher compared to two weeks ago. The cash market did all this with a very negative day on the board for both live and feeder cattle.

This week we sold 6,099 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, February 28th, was a Regular Sale marketing only 88 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. This would be noted as one of the smallest slaughter cow sales we have seen in three plus years. The talk of a shrinking cow herd might finally be coming true. As a whole the market was $2.00 to $5.00 higher on all classes of cows. We also had 11 head of fresh baby calves that brought $475.00 to $700.00 a head. Thursday, February 29th, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale Marketing 6,011 head of all weaned steers and heifers weighing mostly 500 lbs to 850 lbs. Steers sold $4.00 to $12.00 higher on all weight classes. Heifers sold $2.00 to $13.00 higher compared to two weeks. Record prices were noted throughout the day with a strong demand for both steers & heifers.

This week we sold 6,096 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, February 14, we sold 846 head of Butcher and Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. We had a big run for this time of year and a very solid and good market for the day. Slaughter and Feeding Cows sold $2.00 to $4.00 higher again this week. This was a light test again on Slaughter bulls and heiferettes. We look forward to the weigh up market staying strong going forward with tighter supplies. Thursday, February 15th was a Stocker & Feeder Special with 5,250 head of choice to high quality calves running through the ring. Steer calves weighing under 650 lbs sold steady to $10.00 higher while steers weighing over 650 lbs sold steady to $5.00 lower. Heifer calves weighing 500 to 600 lbs sold $3.00 to $8.00 lower while all other weight classes sold steady to $6.00 higher. This week we sold 6,345 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, January 31, we sold 383 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. The market remained very strong this week with mostly all slaughter cows trading from $92.00 to $105.00. Slaughter bulls sold $3.00 to $4.00 higher. Light test on heiferettes with no comparison to a week ago. Thursday, February 1st was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale marketing 5,962 head for a active market throughout the entire day. All weight classes of steers sold steady to $6.00 higher with 700 to 750 lb steers selling $16.00 higher. Heifers sold $2.00 to $8.00 higher with 700 to 750 lb heifers selling $14.00 higher, all compared to last week. The kind and quality was very good. Demand was noted as very strong.

MARKET REPORT FOR JANUARY 24TH & 25TH

This week we sold 7,268 head of all classes in three sales. Monday, January 22, was a Special Stockcow & 1st Calf Heifer Sale marketing 1,383 head. Young bred stock sold steady to $100.00 lower compared to two weeks ago. While aged bred cows sold $100.00 to $200.00 higher. Wednesday January 24, was a Regular Sale consisting mostly of slaughter cows and bulls, the market mostly steady compared to last week. Outside slaughter bulls selling $2.00 to $5.00 higher. Thursday, January 25 was the last week of the Stock Show Sale Series. We sold 5,526 head and had a great market for all the consignors. All weight classes sold $4.00 to $8.00 higher with the exception of 600 to 650 lb. steers and heifers selling $7.00 to $8.00 lower. Demand was good with active bidding from buyers on the seats and the internet.

Steers and heifers weighing under 600 lbs. sold $5.00 to $7.00 lower compared to last week. Weighing 600 to 750 lbs. sold $2.00 to $8.00 higher with no test on heavy feeder cattle. This week we sold 5,401 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, January 3rd, was a Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bull & Heiferette Regular Sale. We marketed 707 head of mostly slaughter cows & bulls. The market was steady compared to two weeks ago. Light test again on heiferettes. Thursday, January 4th, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale running 4,694 head of calves through the ring. In the morning we sold the Black Angus section, a little after 1 we switched over to the “Red Angus & Hereford Influence Section”. The market was very strong throughout the day. The only weight class that showed lower was 4 weight steers selling $4.00 to $6.00 lower compared to December. All other weight classes on both steers & heifers sold $5.00 to $7.00 higher compared to December. Lots of bidding activity on both the seats and on the internet.

This week we sold 8,023 head of cattle of all classes in three sales. Monday, December 11th was the second week of the “Best of the West” Special Stockcow & 1st Calf Heifer Sale Series. We sold 2,487 head for another very successful day. Every bred cow and heifer class was in line compared to the week before. Wednesday December 13th was a Regular Sale Marketing 858 head of Butcher and Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. Thin and Mid-Grade Slaughter cows sold $3.00 to $5.00 higher and heavier fleshed cows sold $4.00 to $5.00 lower compared to last week. Light test on slaughter bulls an heiferettes. On Thursday, December 14th, we sold 4,678 head for a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale. The market was on fire, posted some big quotes on 500 to 650 lbs steers. Most of the line up was weaned steers and heifers. All weight classes sold on steers & heifers sold $5.00 to $12.00 higher compared to last week. Buyer demand was very strong.

On Wednesday, December 6th, we sold 1,149 head of Butcher & Feeder Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes with again a steady to $2.00 lower market on all classes. Our Special Stocker & Feeder Sale was on Thursday, December 7th, selling 4,848 head of high-quality bawling and weaned calves. Steers weighing 400 to 650 lbs sold $5.00 to $10.00 higher with 650 to 750 lb steers selling $4.00 to $7.00 lower. Heifers weighing 450 to 600 lbs sold $4.00 to $10.00 higher and over 600 lbs sold $6.00 to $10.00 lower all compared to last week. This week we marketed 3,076 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, November 29th, we sold 1,155 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. 70% of the slaughter cow trade was in the 80 cent range with 20% over 90 cents and 10% of the trade under 80 cents. Heiferette trade had a lower undertone again this week and light test on slaughter bulls. On Thursday, November 30th, we sold 1,921 head of Stocker & Feeders. Light Steer calves sold sharply lower compared to two weeks ago with big steers selling steady. Heifer trade was the highlight compared to the last sale selling steady to $11.00 higher. The sale was smaller for volume with half the selection as bawlers and the other half as weaned. Good number of buyers on the seats with an active internet.

This week we sold 6,099 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday November 8th was a Regular Sale marketing 1,081 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. Slaughter Cows charted lower compared to last week trading $3.00 to $5.00 lower to the last trade. Heiferettes saw their first decline in weeks with most of the buyers filling their orders. Thursday, November 9th, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale selling 5,018 head. Both steer and heifer trade were sharply lower compared to a week ago. Board of trade cattle futures posted major losses in the last week and it was seen with the trade. Buyer attendance was good with very moderate buyer demand.

This week we sold 5,686 head of cattle in two sales. Wednesday, November 1st, was a Regular Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferette sale. We sold 1,128 head for the day. Even with bigger numbers the market was steady to $3.00 lower on slaughter cows with a light test on slaughter bulls. The heiferette market remains very strong for yet another week. Thursday, November 2nd was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale, selling 4,558 head of mostly bawling calves with a light test of preg checked open heifers. Calves sold sharply higher on both steers & heifers weighing 550 lbs and under, with bigger calves weighing over 550 lbs sold $3.00 to $5.00 higher. A good crowd was on hand with new buyers in the seats for fall.

Slaughter Cows & Bulls sold $2.00 to $4.00 lower with increased supply and decreased demand. Heiferette trade was steady to $5.00 lower. Thursday, October 26th was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale featuring the Red Angus and Hereford Influence Sale, 5,446 head ran through the ring. The trade on Steers and Heifers weighing under 550 lbs was steady to $7.00 higher and over 550 lbs was steady to $5.00 lower. Demand was good to strong with a large number of buyers in the seats.

This week we sold 4,165 head of cattle of all classes in two separate sales. Wednesday, October 18th, was a Butcher & Feeding Cow, Bull & Heiferette Sale. Slaughter cows remained steady compared to last week with no test on Slaughter Bulls. Heiferettes sold sharply higher. Thursday, October 19th, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale marketing 3,452 head of mostly bawling calves. We sold one load of feeding steers weighing 864 lbs at $253.00. yearling heifers sold $3.00 to $7.00 lower to last week. Steer calves sold $2.00 to $10.00 lower, outside of 575 lbs steers selling $2.00 higher compared to a week ago. Heifer calves brought $6.00 to $8.00 lower on all classes. A depressed market for the day was due to lack luster live cattle and feeder board for the week and down big during the sale on Thursday. Demand was moderate to good.

The market was steady compared to last week on slaughter cows- Slaughter had a light test with declining numbers. The heiferette market was very strong and sold $5.00 higher to last week, Thursday, October 12th was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale marketing 2,531 head of mostly bawling calves. Demand was moderate with a major storm entering the area. Still record prices were recorded on all weight classes of calves.

This week we sold 826 head of Butcher, Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes with another big run for the 2nd week of June. Big fleshing slaughter Cows sold steady to last week. Thinner and lower grade slaughter Cows were steady to $2.00 lower. There was a light test on feeders. Slaughter Bulls sold $5.00 to $7.00 lower with a large test. Heiferette trade was $5.00 higher with new buyers in the seats.

This week we sold 5,812 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, April 19th, was a regular sale with a Special Stockcow and Cow/ Calf Pair section. Slaughter Cows & Heiferette types sold $3.00 to $5.00 lower. Feeding cows sold Steady. Light test on Bred Cows and Short Term Pairs sold $150.00 lower all compared to last week. Thursday, April 20th, was a Special Stocker & Feeder Sale selling 4,666 head of fall calves and yearlings. Demand was very strong with good buyer volume on the internet. Steers sold lower on all weight classes expect for 650 lbs to 750 lbs steers selling $7.00 to $10.00 higher. Heifers sold $5.00 to $8.00 higher compared to two weeks ago.

This week we sold 4,435 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, March 22nd we sold 592 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. The market was very strong on all classes of weigh up cows and bulls with a strong up trend in the heiferettes. Our Special Stocker & Feeder Sale was on Thursday, March 23rd selling 3,843 head. The stocker demand continues to strengthen selling $5.00 to $10.00 higher on both steers & heifers weighing 400 to 750 lbs. Feeder cattle sold $2.00 to $5.00 lower on both steers & heifers weighing 750 to 950 lbs. This was all compared to two weeks ago. Buyer interest and attendance was very strong.

This week we sold 4,805 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. On Wednesday, February 22, we sold 179 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes with a major winter storm in the area. The market was $2.00 to $5.00 higher on all classes of slaughter cows. Heiferettes and Slaughter Bulls were steady with a light test. On Thursday, February 23, was a Special Stocker & Feeder sale. Selling 4,626 head. The market continues its upward moving reaching new highs for the winter run. Compared to a week ago steers sold steady to $10.00 higher. Heifers sold steady to
$9.00 higher. Demand was very stout throughout the whole day both in the seats and on the internet.

This week we sold 6,266 head of cattle of all classes in two sales. Wednesday, February 15th was a Regular Sale marketing 513 head of Butcher & Feeding Cows, Bulls & Heiferettes. The market continues to show a strong upward movement on both slaughter Cows and Bulls. On Thursday February 16th, we showcased a Special Stocker and Feeder Sale selling 5,753 head. The sale featured an outstanding listing of both Stockers & Feeders that excelled in kind, quality and ideal condition for the next user. Compared to two weeks ago the market on steers sold steady to $8.00 higher. Heifers sold steady to $7.00 higher. Demand was very strong throughout the entire day.
